    Introduction:

Progressive web apps (PWA) are a relatively new concept in the web world. Their main goal is to bridge the gap between native mobile apps and the mobile web apps and bring the user experience on the web closer to native mobile experience. With features like push notifications, home screen startup (including splash screen) and offline access, they bring some of the previously exclusive abilities of native mobile apps to the web and with that we as analysts must be able to track all the necessary events to capture user <g class="gr_ gr_76 gr-alert gr_spell gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling multiReplace" id="76" data-gr-id="76">behaviour</g> correctly.

    Analysis Overview:

The goal is to understand that PWAs can exist in two universes simultaneously, meaning they can be used as a web page like any other or almost like a native mobile app (if a user decides to add it to his/her home screen and especially if PWA has the capability to work offline). It becomes clear that we cannot put all users in the same bucket to effectively analyze their <g class="gr_ gr_74 gr-alert gr_spell gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling multiReplace" id="74" data-gr-id="74">behaviour</g> and extract important KPIs. We must take steps to ensure proper tracking of all aspects of the PWA.

    Analysis Benefits:

This recipe aims to provide kind of a checklist of what needs to be tracked to ensure quality analysis can be done later.
