    Introduction:

Using CASE statement in Data Studio to customize dimensions such as Default Channel Grouping, Landing Pages, Medium and other dimensions.

    Analysis Overview:

CASE statement is a great function that allows users to customize dimensions from Google Analytics or Google Sheets in a way that is fast and works for the particular report or analysis. The main goal is to help organize dimensions for a report or analysis without having to make any changes in source data. Often times the data output from collection needs some adjustment or grouping for analysis and presentation, a CASE statement allows for this adjustment to be done in the toolset and apply retroactively to the data.

    Analysis Benefits:

    1. Customize various dimensions for a particular analysis inside Data Studio without making any changes in Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager
    2. CASE statement supports number of different operators as well as other functions to build complex logic statements
    3. Can be used to group dimensions, modify them into booleans and perform calculations
