Donation Form Abandonment Rate

  • 1.  Donation Form Abandonment Rate

    Posted 06-06-2016 11:26 AM

Introduction:  Most donation and analytics platforms may let you know how many people visited a donation form and subsequently left. But this can leave you wondering why they left. Does your form have usability issues? Is there a form field that's turning donors off? Are potential donors getting a lot of errors? By tracking clicks within each field on a donation form, you can find out more.

    Analysis Overview:

This recipe will help identify reasons for abandonment that are caused just by the form itself and focuses on providing insights on flow, UX and, to some degree, on  wherever specific fields or error messages turn people off.

    Analysis Benefits:

    1. Ability to separate those visitors who bounced or stumbled upon the form page by accident from those who actually interacted with the form but abandoned it for some reason
    2. Ability to determine fields that do not sit well with visitors as well as most common errors visitors encounter
    3. Ability to determine if people that experience a specific issue belong to a specific demographic or come from a specific campaign
