DAA: 15 Years and Still Simply The Best

By Marilee Yorchak posted 09-26-2019 11:47 AM

The best is yet to come.

That phrase pops into my head whenever I think of our 15th anniversary year. The Digital Analytics Association (DAA) has ballooned to over 5,000 members from all areas of the industry: software vendors, enterprise practitioners, analytics consumers, consultants, marketing managers and, recently, chief analytics officers to name just a few. If we played the “Six Degrees of Separation” game I’m confident that we’d find almost every digital analyst in North America has some connection to DAA. It could be they work for a DAA member, used our educational materials, attended a Symposium or Chapter event or joined our LinkedIn group. DAA has become all pervasive in the digital analytics industry over the last 15 years for a variety of reasons.

People are realizing in all areas of business that they need to understand analytics and can’t simply talk about it and let other people do it. Businesses recognize that proper use and understanding of analytics and data drive decisions that drive revenue. Going with “your gut” or a “hunch” is not a good answer. If you can come to the table with data that helps make a better decision, it’s better for everybody.

This is exactly the point DAA has been making for the last 15 years: Helping you make better decisions by understanding data.

DAA Member Benefits

There are two ways we help our members make better decisions by understanding data. First, DAA’s emphasis on personal growth and development helps members become the best manager or analyst they can be. They have access to a multitude of educational courses, regional Symposiums for knowledge-sharing, DAA’s Web Analyst Certification Program and – new this year – DAA OneConference. DAA OneConference in Chicago October 23-24, 2019 will feature groundbreaking educational sessions, networking opportunities and the annual Quanties Awards – all happening together at one conference with presentations from analytics leaders and industry influencers. I hope you join us for this opportunity to celebrate our 15th anniversary, collaborate and engage with the digital analytics community on a global scale.

The second benefit to joining DAA is its network. If you took a survey of 25 DAA members in high-level positions you’d find that many of them got a job through connections within DAA. The industry moves fast. DAA can make sure people don’t get left behind either professionally or personally.

In the first 15 years DAA created a new industry, set the standards and created a global community. I’m excited to see what the next 15 years may bring and thrilled to be a part of it.

This is why The Best is Yet to Come.
